PSNP Annual Plan

NOTE: This document is applicable to the Productive Safety Net Programme (PSNP) only. For Relief see the Humanitarian Requirements Document (HRD).

Under the Productive Safety Net Programme (PSNP), needs are planned annually according to a strict timetable. From a commodity management perspective the output of this planning process – the federally approved PSNP Annual Plan – shows the type of payments to be provided (food or cash) and the number of months of assistance for each wereda. This must be approved federally because the ability to respond to weredas’ requests to make food-payments depends on grain resources available at a federal level.

Once approved, the quantities of commodities must be communicated to any weredas planned to receive food payments in order to determine the /wiki/spaces/CTS/pages/2162711 and notify federal DRMFSS. Note: All PSNP food resources are dispatched directly from the Federal DRMFSS Hubs to the FDPs, with information of the timing of the dispatch and delivery date, communicated to Regions by the dispatching hub.
