| Annual Plan preparation | - Draft plan is prepared based on the Program Implementation Manual (PIM) and is sent to regions before it is accepted as final for their review
- We usually add 20% contingency to the total number
- We calculate the total amount of cash/food required based on the wedge rate
- The maximum duration of assistance is six months

| HRD planning | - EW uses different tools to come-up with the number of needy population such as market situation, LIAS, livelihood situation of the community etc.
- LIAS spreadsheet is used to prepare and calculate needy population in the form of needs assessment record
- EW conducts two types of assessments (annual and rapid)
- Usually assessment is conducted every year in December and June
- HRD is then prepared based on the total number of beneficiaries from the needs assessment table
